On 1.10.2011 a moving mini-documentary on the first ever men’s synchronized swimming team in Finland premiered on prime time national TV. It is a compelling story about what men are willing to do out of love for women.
“The Men Who Swam for Love” documentary is the joint effort of Cancer Society of Finland and McCann Worldgroup Helsinki, and it is a part of the 2011 Pink Ribbon campaign. It documents a journey of ten men to the art of synchronized swimming to challenge themselves and raise awareness for fight against breast cancer and the Pink Ribbon month.
”It´s been amazing”, says agency producer Yrjö Haavisto. ”The client came in requesting simple print-based campaign for this year, and we did deliver that. The twist was that the final print was the last frame from the documentary.”
