CEO Nick Brien Taps Cadell to Strengthen and Further Integrate Asian Offering
NEW YORK/SINGAPORE, November 30, 2010 – McCann Worldgroup announced today the hire of Charles Cadell as regional managing director, Southeast Asia and Australia, effective January 2011. Based in Singapore, Cadell will oversee business in the larger region, maintaining emphasis on key growth opportunities in markets such as Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Cadell’s arrival is part of McCann Worldgroup CEO Nick Brien’s new operating structure for the Asia-Pacific region, the centerpiece of which is the Asia-Pacific Executive Committee, arranged to promote collaboration and strategic innovation among key market leaders. Rounding out this Executive Committee are Michael McLaren, CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan, TH Peng, CEO of McCann Worldgroup China and Prasoon Joshi, who holds the dual posts of executive chairman, McCann Worldgroup India and regional executive creative director, McCann Worldgroup Asia-Pacific.

Cadell joins McCann Worldgroup from Lowe Lintas India, where he has served as CEO since 2008, most recently taking responsibility for operations across South Asia, including three advertising agencies and various marketing services units across 12 offices and employing more then 900 people. He has spent more than 15 years in Asia, since relocating in 1992 from Leo Burnett London to Thailand to oversee the agency’s multinational client base entrance into that country. In 1995, he was responsible for establishing the emerging Indo-China markets, starting both the Vietnamese and Burmese offices. This experience, plus subsequent roles for Leo Burnett as general manager in Hong Kong and managing director in Malaysia, laid the foundation for his Cadell’s next role. As President, Asia-Pacific for Arc Worldwide, he established the marketing services brand throughout the region on behalf of Publicis Groupe.
