Perhach Joins from Euro RSCG New York
New York, January 11, 2011 – McCann Worldgroup announced today it has named Mary Perhach, formerly chief communications officer and global brand director at Euro RSCG New York, as its new chief communications officer. Based in New York, Perhach will report directly to global Chief Executive Officer Nick Brien, and will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication programs to further elevate McCann Worldgroup’s reputation among the marketing communications industry and the client community.
“Mary comes from a highly collaborative and creative environment, which aligns perfectly with our ethos of collaboration underpinned by creativity, innovation and performance,” said Brien, who, in addition to leading McCann Worldgroup, also serves as global chief executive officer for McCann Erickson. “Her unique career experience – a blend of both account management and corporate communications at both the global and single agency levels – gives her great insight into how all the pieces work together. She is highly accomplished, and has the perfect blend of creativity, passion and innovative thinking that makes her the ideal person to lead our communications strategy.”
Perhach joins McCann Worldgroup from Euro RSCG New York, where she simultaneously held the position of chief communications officer and North American global brand director for Heineken and Dos Equis. In addition to overseeing the conception and launch of the much celebrated “Most Interesting Man in the World” campaign, Perhach further expanded the agency’s relationship with Heineken USA by leading the pitch to win the Heineken and Heineken Light business.
During her 14-year tenure at Euro RSCG, Perhach has lead communications for both the global network and its flagship New York office, and handled account management and client relations for a wide range of brands including MCI, New Balance, Home Shopping Network, Unilever, Texaco, L’Oreal and Polaroid. Her pro bono work includes efforts for Partnership for a Drug-Free America and Children’s Health Fund. In 2004, Perhach helped kick off the inaugural Advertising Week in New York City.
“I am thrilled to be joining McCann Worldgroup at such an exciting time in the company’s evolution,” said Perhach. “Nick Brien is an inspiring, visionary leader and McCann Worldgroup encompasses the industry’s most innovative and globally respected companies, and partners with some of the world’s most influential brands. I look forward to being part of the team.”
